I'm currently enrolled at Indian River State College, where I'm pursuing my B.A. in Elementary Education (Kindergarten-12th grade) and Exceptional Student Education. I received my Associate of Arts degree in 2011, with a concentration on teaching. I've worked with autistic students and students with other special needs. I'm passionate about working patiently with students with disabilities to meet their specific needs. I hope to become an online-based teacher, a desire that was spawned in me at the end of high school (I attended Florida Virtual School). I'm currently working as an online tutor, and I am attempting to gain as much expertise as possible toward becoming a virtual educator. I have experience teaching coursework in English Language Learners (also known as English as a Second Language), Reading, Grammar and Mechanics, English, and Special Education. I also have worked to help students build better writing skills, essay development and editing skills, phonics comprehension, and public speaking efficiency. Additionally, I've tutored students during summer months. Outside of my studies and professional endeavors, I love to spend time with my spouse and family. I'm an avid church-goer, and I volunteer with a number of local groups. I also enjoy reading, writing, and being active outdoors. I'm also a poet and animal-lover.
